Celebrating our heritage as one of the founding families
of the southern Mountain State.
The family originally settled in Rockingham/Augusta County, Virginia
area; West Virginia descendants including George Alford and his wife Mary
Byrnside were pioneer settlers in Monroe County, West Virginia and
later the area of Cabell County, West Virginia that became Lincoln County.
George Alford's son Robert 'Robin' Alford, along with
Robert’s sons Adam Alford, George
Washington Alford and Joseph
Alford fought for the Confederacy in the War of Southern Secession.
Our family is rich in lore with a history of public service.
